PRIESTLEY College students' achievements in the sporting arena have been recognised with awards.
Amy Pegnam and Mark Smith were crowned the college's sports personalities of the year.
Pegnam shone in swimming during her time at Priestley, becoming Northern Counties 200m breaststroke champion and captaining Cheshire, while Smith represented England under 18s rugby league team in the European Nations tournament Other awards were handed to footballers Jon Shakeshaft, Luke Petherbridge, Kim Smith and Katie Salisbury, basketball player Jordan Bibby, netball player Saskia Martinus, coach Luke Turner and rugby league player Karl Adamson.
The range of sporting talent at the college was also highlighted with awards for international recognition going to footballer Daniel Toone, who represented North of England; rugby league players Mark Smith and Chris Payton, who competed for England; Ben Tyler, who represented Great Britain in dragon boat racing; water polo player Rafik Tahraoui, who was selected for Great Britain; and Christina Duckers, who made the gymnastics national squad.
