WARRINGTON-born James Chester is on the move after Championship outfit Aston Villa secured his services on a four-year contract.
The former Birchwood Community High School student, who played every minute of Wales’ historic run to the Euro 2016 semi-finals this summer, moves from West Bromwich Albion for an undisclosed fee reported as being higher than the £8 million the Baggies paid for him last summer.
Chester, who started his career as a junior at Winwick Athletic before joining Manchester United’s academy, made 19 appearances in the Premier League for Tony Pulis’ side last year but will now be focused on Villa’s fight for an immediate return to the top flight.
Delighted to have signed for @AVFCOfficial . Massive club! Can't wait to get started #AVFC ⚽️⚽️
