Latchford Albion 22 Golborne Parkside 32
ALBION suffered defeat in the North West Counties Cup in their opening game of the new season.
Chasing a 12-0 deficit within five minutes, Latchford ran the ball on the last tackle and after the ball went through 10 pairs of hands Adam Wood crashed over with Luke Hickman converting.
Tries either side of half time threatened the game getting away from Latchford, but converted scores from man-of-the-match Ryan Hickman and Damian Lyon took Latchford to within six points.
Golborne scored again and Ryan Hickman crossed for his second try, leaving Albion four points adrift with 10 minutes to go.
The visitors took advantage of an error to race away and seal the victory.
