Warrington Town 1 Northwich Manchester Villa 0 (aet)
A GLUT of changes, but same result - another win for the Yellows.
Shaun Reid's squad, currently nine points clear in Evo-Stik First Division North on the back of 12 matches unbeaten, took their first scalp in this season's Cheshire Senior Cup tonight with a youthful line-up.
It has been raining goals for the Yellows recently, hitting the mark 20 times in five games, but supporters had to wait 108 minutes to see the net bulge against determined opposition at Cantilever Park.
Then it was cometh the hour, cometh the man, and a sweet strike worth waiting for.
In-form Joe Holt fired in a volley from 20 yards to decide the tie.
He was one of only two players in the starting XI from Saturday's 5-0 victory at New Mills.
Town, who will visit Chester in the next round, return to league action on Saturday when they host Scarborough Athletic, kick off 3pm.
Long night but right result, got some great young players coming through. Chester away in the next round. Next up Scarborough on Sat
