LAUREN Ferris was Warrington Athletics Club's leading runner in the English Schools Cross Country Championships at Witton Country Park in Blackburn on Saturday.
In the intermediate age group, Ferris finished in an excellent 38th place for Cheshire in 13mins 43secs.
Clubmate Lauren Goddard was 168th in 14mins 39secs and Jasmine Dobson 223rd in 15mins 2secs.
In the boys' race Jack Stubbings was 111th in 19mins 50secs, with Sam Rostron 166th in 20mins 14secs.
Warrington's India Hayes contested the junior girls' event for Greater Mancester and finished in 215th place in 13mins 12secs, while Isabelle Trevithick, running for Cheshire, was 325th in 14mins 2secs.
In the boys' race Jordan Jones (Cheshire) finished in 254th place in 13mins 39secs.
