WOOLSTON Rovers began their pre-season campaign with a convincing victory over Latchford Albion at Monks Sports Club on Saturday.
Tries for Lewis Hoarty, Shane Duffy and Ryan Cosgrove built Rovers, in their first outing under new head coach John Fieldhouse, a first-half lead.
Hoarty converted twice, and in the second half Woolston added further tries from 16-year-old substitute Chris Twigg, Jack Sherratt, Cosgrove again, hooker Ryan Brown and substitute James Rosson.
Hoarty claimed a try and a further five goals to complete the win.
Rovers next pre-season fixture is on Saturday week, February 14, when they travel to Leigh East.
