Burnage 3rd 24 Warrington 3rd 10
WARRINGTON were incapable of showing any of their early-season form on Saturday when their half-time lead was pegged back by Burnage in the Division Two South fixture.
The home side set out their stall in the first quarter, where they used their heavier, more experienced pack to camp out in Warrington territory.
Continuous pressure eventually resulted in a converted try from their forwards but Warrington soon responded with a penalty from Matt Drinkwater.
Ten minutes later, the Warrington stand-off found a chink in the Burnage defence and sprayed a superb pass to Gary Jackman who completed a 60-yard run to the line. Drinkwater converted to make the half time score 7-10.
However, this was to be the end of any Warrington scoring, as Burnage assumed control of the game to score two more converted tries and a penalty.
Warrington thirds host Sefton seconds on Saturday, kick off 2.15pm.
