Firwood Waterloo 20 Lymm 5
LYMM were undone by a late charge at Firwood in National League Three North on Saturday.
Waterloo took the lead in the 11th minute with a converted score, but Lymm pulled back soon after with a try from Mark Wells.
A missed conversion kept Lymm chasing and despite staying a close affair throughout, that is the way the game remained.
A converted penalty after 20 minutes increased the home side’s narrow lead.
Waterloo increased the pressure in the second half but Lymm held firm until the visitors conceded another penalty with 15 minutes to go, which was duly punished.
Waterloo then produced the try-of-the-match as they broke up field for Waterloo to score near the posts.
