WARRINGTON Wizards will play in the renamed Rugby League Conference National next season.

Having been one of the leading teams in the much-maligned National League Three for four seasons, Wizards will remain part of the fourth tier of summer rugby in 2007.

But the amateur league has undergone a rebrand after problems with its image, not helped by the withdrawal of several teams midway through seasons.

Concerns about the competitiveness of the division were part of the reason why Eddie Harris quit as Wizards coach last month but three new teams will join the Rugby League Conference National next season to form a 10-team competition.

Wizards will play games against Leeds Akkies, Hull's Cottingham Phoenix and East Lancashire Lions, who are based in Darwen.

Their league season will kick off on April 7 at Huddersfield Underbank Rangers and continue until September 8 - the last round of fixtures before the play-offs.

Wizards' third-placed finish in 2006 has again earned them a place in the Northern Rail Cup next season and they commence that campaign at Dewsbury Celtic on February 11.

Wizards have also been drawn with fellow Conference National sides Hemel Hempstead Stags and Bramley Buffaloes, with the group winners facing a runner up from another group for a place in the quarter finals.

Wizards host Hemel Hempstead on February 18, Dewsbury on March 18 and Bramley on March 25.

Their other away games are at Bramley on February 25 and Hemel Hempstead on March 4.
