A PROCESSION of wickets cost Rylands the chance to capitalise on a dominant display with the ball.

After winning the toss and inserting Saughall, the hosts had the visitors all out for an obtainable score of 156 in Saturday’s Cheshire Alliance Division One clash.

Needing only 157 to get home, and with a strong batting line up, the prospect of a 20-point victory seemed good.

That was not to be the case, however.

After Rylands lost a succession of cheap wickets it was left to skipper Adam Peters and young Andrew Goodfellow to defiantly survive the last 16 overs in defence of the 10th wicket and see the home side hold out for a draw.
