CULCHETH Eagles have appointed Mick Fishwick as head coach.

He brings a lot of experience to the club after having coaching roles at Bank Quay Bulls, Leigh East and with the Barla under 23s.

Fishwick takes over the reins with Eagles in a healthy position.

They are currently third in Division Two of the North West Men’s League and have reached the final of the Warrington Carlsberg Cup.

With junior numbers growing at a good rate, these are exciting times at Shaw Street.

Any new players interested in joining one of the club’s teams should call Jon McLeod on 07734 469443.

Cadishead Rhinos 0
Culcheth Eagles 40

CULCHETH cemented third after nilling bottom side Cadishead at the weekend.

Eagles will be seeking their sixth win from seven outings when they play host to Pilkington Recs on Saturday, kick off 2.30pm at Shaw Street.

The weekend’s match was not as one sided as the scoreline suggests.

Rhinos caused plenty of problems for Eagles in defence and attack, making them work hard and play some tough rugby.

Culcheth’s forwards, led by Ross Pendlebury and Ant Dale, battered away at the home defence and laid the platform for the backs to come into play.

A superb 70-metre try was scored by Chris Pleavin. James Wilde crossed for a hat-trick, with Adam Rainford adding two more.

Stu Pirrie and Dale also chipped in.

Best for Culcheth were Ross Pendlebury, Rainford and Parkinson.
