Latchford Albion 12
Wigan Spring View 30
LATCHFORD failed to make the most of their chances as Wigan Spring View took over top spot in North West Men’s League Division One.
After turning round 18-12 adrift, Albion were unable to capitalise on several breaks, the strong running of New Zealand newcomer Feka Polonisa as well as the workrate of Matt Patterson and Danny Brown.
It was a fine pass from stand off Brown that led to Kyle Cherrett crossing for the opening try, with Tony Burne converting.
Steven Worrell raced 70 metres to score and keep his side in the hunt before the break.
Best for Latchford were Brown, Jon Hill, Worrell and Polonisa.
Latchford: Dave Walker; Drew Bradley, Steven Worrell, Craig Middlemore, Kyle Cherrett; Danny Brown, Jack Morgan; Darryl Smith, Conner Byron, Jon Hill, Matt Patterson, Craig Woolvine, Tony Burne. Subs: Tom Crosby, Martin Whitehead, Damion Lyon, Feka Polonisa.
