JAMES Ratcliffe won a clean sweep of medals at the Cheshire and Greater Manchester County Athletics Championships at Longford Park, Trafford.
Born and brought up in Stockton Heath, Ratcliffe, aged 14, was crowned the Cheshire champion in the under 15s age group in three separate events – the 100m, 200m and 300m.
The Sale Harriers runner also won the silver medal in the javelin.
Despite poor weather, he also achieved personal bests in the 100m and 200m events.
Ratcliffe said: “I’m now looking forward to representing Cheshire in the Inter-Counties Championships in Hull later in the summer as well as aiming to qualify to represent Greater Manchester Schools against the best in the country in Birmingham in July.”
