Woolston Rovers A 20
Bamber Bridge 44
A SLOW start cost Woolston Rovers dearly against a Bamber Bridge side sitting second in North West Men’s League Division Two.
Centre Paul Wilson and substitute Tom Fagan scored for Woolston but they trailed 30-8 at the break.
Rovers gave themselves hope with a second try from Wilson.
Bridge cancelled that one out and took full advantage when scrum half Billy Maunder was sin binned for dissent, to go 44-12 ahead.
The final quarter belonged to Rovers, with tries from loose forward Lloyd Feather and man-of-the-match hooker Scott Whiteley giving the score a bit more respectability.
Rovers A: Sam Leicester; Liam-Percy Taylor, Paul Wilson, Martin Conroy, Jake Wright; Dominic Ball, Billy Maunder; Stephen Dowson, Scott Whiteley, Bobby McGregor, Daniel Fearnley, James Dudley, Lloyd Feather. Subs: Louis Walsh, Tom Fagan, Sam Files, Mike McNamara.
