Winnington Park Ladies 0 Lymm Ladies 1st 5
LYMM shot to the top of the Cheshire Women’s Division One table thanks to a comfortable defeat of hard-working hosts Winnington Park.
Thanks to title rivals Timperley’s defeat at Sale, Lymm’s five-goal demolition of the division’s bottom club takes them two points clear at the top with an impressive record of 10 wins from 11 games.
A sticky opening period saw Amy Heywood make some important saves as Lymm failed to make the most of good possession, a deadlock that was eventually broken when Nat Riley slotted in after fine wing play from Megan Mousdale.
A Mousdale strike and a second from Riley opened a 3-0 lead at the break and Riley completed her hat-trick soon after the break with a crafty nutmeg of the Park keeper.
The visitors completed their victory in style, Lisa Hartley-Woodrow lobbing the keeper with a reverse shot that followed a mazy dribble into the area.
A fitting end to an impressive win.

DAVE Moorfield’s brace helped Lymm twice fight back from a deficit against hard-working Blackpool Ben Smith won man of the match for his midfield performance.
