WARRINGTON Wolves’ trio of England internationals helped Steve McNamara’s team brush aside a spirited Welsh outfit 80-12 at the Racecourse Stadium.

Richie Myler, debutant Chris Hill and Adrian Morley played their part in England’s largest ever victory against a hard-working but thoroughly outclassed Wales side, which contained Wolves teammates Ben Evans in the back row and Lee Briers in the coaching staff.

Myler in particular played an important role alongside new England skipper Kevin Sinfield in the halves, having a hand in six of England’s 14 tries that included four for debutant Josh Charnley, two for Ryan Hall, two for debutant Zak Hardaker, two from Leroy Cudjoe, and one a piece from debutant Kallum Watkins, Gareth Ellis, Rob Burrow and Jamie Jones-Buchanan.

Wales started brightly and managed to keep England scoreless for 10 minutes, with strong defence keeping the visitors at bay until Myler’s long pass sent Ryan Hall sauntering over in the corner.

Wales produced some of the fight that had seen them give France a tough time in Lens last week, but once Charnley and Hardaker had crossed for tries on 16 and 19 minutes the result was never in doubt.

England, helped by strong running from Chris Hill and Adrian Morley in the front row, were better in almost every department, with Wales’ tiring defence carved open again and again in a one-sided second half.

Iestyn Harris' team did cross for tries from Christian Roets and Dan Fleming either side of the break, but much of their time was spent in defence as England’s full-time professionals ran them ragged with a performance that will put them in high spirits ahead of their clash against France at Craven Park next week.
