TWO mums are celebrating the success of their new plant and floristry business.

Lisa Bradshaw and Sharon Saberi, from Moore, started Thoughtful Botanicals, after discovering their mutual love of houseplants – offering a bespoke, ‘thoughtful’ service that allows them to get to know their customers better.

The pair make all hand-tied bouquets and arrangements themselves, as well as personally delivering the products.

Sharon previously owned her own wedding florist business and Lisa was previously a retail manager of seven years, but was made redundant in 2020.

Lisa said: ‘‘It felt like an opportune moment – at a time when the country was locked down and people were spending more and more days in their homes, it felt like we were falling in love with houseplants all over again and that we could bring something to the table.

‘‘We felt really excited by that.”

The business launched in December selling hand-tied Christmas bouquets, fresh bunches of British mistletoe and Christmas wreaths and the response was ‘overwhelming.’ A line of houseplants was then launched in January.

Sharon added: ‘‘We were completely overwhelmed by the support from the local community and surrounding areas.

‘‘We expected a bit of a lull in January as we moved back into lockdown, but the demand continued – people looking to brighten up someone’s day with a bouquet, or add a houseplant to their home.”

And Thoughtful Botanicals has now launched its Give a Little Love campaign, which sees £1 from sales donated to a primary school.

Lisa and Sharon also have plans to grow their own flowers from seed to use in their bouquets, which will help to feed the bees, and are currently developing their own workshop.
