LYMM Post Office is on the move, but only down the street.
The post office was under threat after the subpostmaster of the Bridgewater Street premises resigned.
But now Harrisons of Lymm at 2, The Cross, has been appointed to offer a full range of services from next year.
Andy Wright, field change adviser, said: "I'm sure our customers will be as delighted as I am that we have managed to maintain a branch in the longer term.
"The new office will have a modern two-position, screen-less counter plus a single position traditional counter. "There will be a handrail at the entrance, a low-level writing desk and space for a wheelchair user.
"It will provide the same range of products and services, including free personal banking, foreign currencies and benefit payments in cash."
A firm date for moving will be announced in the future although there are no details about what will happen to the sorting office also based in Bridewater Street.
