A PART-time DJ from Great Sankey is getting ready for one of his biggest gigs as he prepares to play Creamfields for the second time.

James Glover, of Malpas Drive, has been djing in the town for nearly 10 years.

He started as an 18-year-old in bars like WA1 and FX but is now set to perform alongside the world’s biggest names in Daresbury this weekend.

The 27-year-old said: “Creamfields will be up there definitely.

“It’s a really good opportunity to play there.

“A lot of people from Warrington who know me come down and support me.”

James, who counts contemporary tech house acts like Julio Bashmore and Maya Jane Coles among his influences, first appeared at Creamfields in 2010.

He was asked after Cream organisers saw one of his deep house sets in Warrington.

Having also played at Mecca in Prague and Sankeys in Manchester, the BT engineer was asked back the following year, but had to turn down the offer to be best man at a wedding in Florida.

James, who has previously warmed up for Swedish House Mafia and fellow Creamfields performer Sebastian Ingrosso, is now looking forward to this year’s festival.

He will play in the Vodafone Arena on Saturday and said: “Creamfields is good because it’s your home town but it tends to be a commercial line-up.

“It’s more for a younger crowd but it is still probably the best dance festival in the world.”
