BARBARA Toft has won Stockton Heath Women’s Bowls Club’s Vera Irons Tournament.
She defeated Doris Catterall in the final after the pair had beaten Pam Hanberry and Maggie Attewell respectively in the last four.
The Lily Reddish Tournament title went to Audrey Britland, who bettered Jean Latham.
n Meanwhile Warrington Indoor Long Mat Bowling Club has secured funding help to double capacity for its second season.
Financial support from Warrington Leisure and Central Neighbourhood Board will allow 16 teams to bowl from four mats every Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoon from October through to March.
Sessions take place on Friday evening too. Squads can be registered now.
