BUILDING work has started for the new hang-out spot for youngsters in the town centre.
Work started this week on the youth cafe, located in the old Carphone Warehouse building on Time Square.
Lights and equipment are being installed ready for the opening date of Saturday, December 3.
It has been designed by teenagers and will offer a place to meet, take part in activities and access information services.
An event for volunteers involved with the project will take place on December 2 before it opens to the public a day later.
The cafe has been funded by Warrington Borough Council.
Leader Clr Terry O’Neill said: “I am very pleased that this project will soon become a reality and look forward to visiting the café soon to see the final product.
“I know our young people are looking forward to it opening and I share their enthusiasm.”
