AS spectators from across the world travelled to London to catch a glimpse of the new Royal couple, one woman, who couldn’t quite make it, brought the regal procession here to Warrington.

Nan to four grandchildren, Norma Booth, from Burtonwood, has worked since the Royal Engagement in November to create her own knitted wedding party.

Knitting her way through seven balls of wool to create these resplendent royals consisting of Kate Middleton, Prince William, The Queen, her trusty corgi and The Archbishop of Canterbury, the five knitted figures have been finished to very high standard with intricate details including glasses, crowns and a 2 inch train for the bride The retired mum of three, aged 66, insists she enjoyed making them: “Overall they were relatively easy and great fun to make, but sewing on all the sequins and buttons was the most difficult part.”

Perhaps inspired by Harry Hill’s popular ‘K Factor’ featured on the last series of TV burp, knitted figures are becoming increasingly popular.

Currently in the process of finishing the nuptial party, Ms Booth added, “The wedding is a welcome boost to the morale of our country and I wish the new couple all the very best.”
