EXCITEMENT has been building for the Royal Wedding tomorrow, Friday, as last-minute preparations are made for street parties and families get stocked up on bunting and Union flags.

Dozens of street parties are taking place across Warrington, from Orford to Appleton Thorn and Great Sankey to Culcheth.

And the town’s schools are also getting involved with more parties and celebrations and youngsters at St Wilfrid’s Primary School in Grappenhall even holding a mock wedding today, Thursday – 24 hours before William and Kate.

Among some of the people getting closer to the action on the big day is France 24 reporter and presenter Louise Hannah, who is gearing up to broadcast to 15 million viewers.

Louise, who was born and bred in Grappenhall, is part of the international television news channel team who will be covering the ceremony on the English-speaking channel in front of Buckingham Palace.

The 30-year-old, who now lives in Paris, said: “I was thrilled when I found out I would be covering such a momentous occasion.

“There’s been a lot to organise and work to do beforehand but thankfully most of that is done now so I can relax, make some notes and get super excited.”

She will be alongside the rest of the world’s media in what is thought will be the biggest broadcast of all time.

A fashion designer will be among the guests to discuss Kate’s dress before Louise says she will have to ‘hold it together’ for the couple’s first kiss on the palace balcony.

She said: “One worry was what I was going to wear because I had to strike the right balance between reporter and looking the part for a Royal Wedding.

“I looked in London and Paris for something to wear and then found a jacket in a little shop in Balmoral.”

Louise, who has previously worked on national newspapers in the UK, said her family are very proud and will all be watching in Padgate, Grappenhall and Appleton.

Jade Worsley, from Lymm, will be in Hyde Park on the big day working as a production runner for Australian television company Network 10.

The 20-year-old, who will be assisting the channel’s producers, said she was ‘really looking forward to it’.

Viewers can watch Louise on France 24, Sky channel 513.

Meanwhile police have vowed to make sure the double bank holiday weekend goes off without a hitch.

They will be making patrols each evening and working with licensees to crackdown on any violence.
