STAFF from Warrington's Trading Standards team had reason to celebrate after scooping a top national award.
They won the prestigious MJ Local Government Achievement Award at a London ceremony.
Warrington's team was nominated for producing an excellent application for its work on its successful project to increase awareness of Trading Standards services across the borough.
The project resulted in the contact rates increasing by 138 per cent in deprived areas.
Clr Roy Smith, executive member for community services, said: "The team has worked tremendously hard on the project and fully deserved to win this prestigious award.
"They are a credit to the whole council and the borough."
