WHEN we challenged our talented Wolves reporter Chris Terris Taylor to grow a moustache in the name of charity, we never expected him to say yes.

But ever the good sport, he immediately agreed to take part in Movember, which raises money for the Prostate Cancer Charity.

This is a cause close to the 25-year-old’s heart after his grandfather Ron Taylor, died of the disease eight years ago, aged 71.

Chris said: “As a man who couldn’t grow a moustache if he wanted to, the idea of Movember wasn’t particularly appealing to me. But when I saw it was for prostate cancer, I knew that I had to give it a go.

“My grandfather spent the last six months of his life being cared for in a specialist hospice.

“Knowing that I can help people like him by looking like a fool for four weeks is a good deal in my book, so please dig deep and donate whatever you can afford to help this very worthwhile cause. Thank you.”

Movember, which takes place throughout November, challenges men to change their appearance and the face of men’s health by cultivating some facial hair.

The rules Chris must follow are simple: start Movember 1 clean shaven and then grow a moustache for the entire 30 days.

The idea for Movember was sparked in 2003 in Australia with a simple plan to bring the moustache back as a bit of a joke while doing something for men’s health.

Movember has grown since then, expanding to the US, Canada, New Zealand, Ireland, Spain, South Africa, the Netherlands and Finland.

Now we are asking the men of Warrington to join in with Chris and send in pictures of their ‘tache-growing attempts.
