A HOTEL in Lymm will get a new leisure centre and conference facility despite residents protesting against the plans.
Lymm Hotel, on Whitbarrow Road, had a planning application to add a further 29 bedrooms as well as the two new centres and the associated parking approved last Wednesday.
A packed meeting at Warrington Town Hall heard how residents living along Whitbarrow Road had been blighted by parking on their road from the hotel and service deliveries blocking footpaths.
But Alison Freeman, speaking on behalf of the applicants, said the new development included a new car park that would redirect traffic to the Statham Avenue side of the site.
She also stressed the importance of what the hotel chain was trying to do in revamping the site.
Lymm councillors Bob Barr, Sheila Woodyatt and Ian Marks had added their support to the residents and questioned the size of the development.
But Clr Barr added that they wanted to see the business prosper.
