Rosanna Edwards

Rosanna (pictured below) has repaid Scout team Warrington Orientals for introducing her to dragon-boat racing.

The 15-year-old is competing nationally and internationally with Liverpool dragon boat racing club Amathus, but she has remained loyal to her scout team and paddles with and supports them in all of their events. Rosanna has helped and encouraged three other teenagers so that they too gained a place on this year’s Great Britain team.

And she is an active fundraiser both for herself and other dragon boat racers, organising sponsored walks and bag packs at supermarkets.

Thomas Antrobus

Thomas has a plethora of volunteer work under his belt despite being only 11 years old. Tom completed the Young Leaders Award as part of an extended service provision within the Stockton Heath cluster.

Tom then made the transition from running school activities to becoming the area’s youngest ever community volunteer. He has assisted with a variety of after school, weekend and holiday activities including attending a young leaders training convention. He helped to run warm-up games as part of the annual NSPCC Winter Games festival and has also become a member of the Warrington Young People’s Play Council, organising games and trips.

Natasha Price

Natasha has certainly made her mark since first volunteering for the V Talent year programme last summer.

The 16-year-old from Orford demonstrated outstanding commitment right from the start and was subsequently offered a place on the V Talent programme within Warrington Borough Council. The programme gives young people the opportunity to gain an NVQ qualification and invaluable work experience in schools, youth clubs and sports clubs while volunteering.

Natasha has taken part in running an extremely successful sports day for a primary school.

Dannielle Mundry

Dannielle has got through mountains of volunteer work over the past year and is someone who cannot do enough to help.

Since attending the Positive Futures project, the 16-year-old has volunteered for many roles including booking trips, compiling reports, working as an assistant staff member and helping to start a dance class that continues to grow in popularity.

She also volunteers with NSPCC Participation Through Sport, Warrington Youth Club and Planet Blue. Dannielle is now a valued staff member at the Warrington Peace Centre and has taken on the role of mentor, taking selected young people out for activities with another volunteer. And she has gained Dance Leader and Loud and Clear volunteering awards.

Brad Patzer

Brad has had an enormous effect on young people in the community since he began volunteering for Positive Futures.

He is a supremely reliable volunteer who has all of the attributes of being an excellent coach.

He has gained first aid qualifications and his V certificate plus rugby leaders’ community sports leaders and Duke of Edinburgh awards. And Brad’s many contributions as a volunteer include assisting in PE delivery in schools, mentoring peers plus running leadership events in the community and community competitions and activities.
