SHARE memories of hero Private Tom Sephton and show your support for Help for Heroes at a rugby match.

Crosfields ARLFC Select, Private Sephton’s former team, will go head-to-head the Army RL Select team to secure the Tom Sephton Memorial Trophy.

The former Great Sankey High School pupil, from the 1st Battalion the Mercian Regiment, died on July 5 after being seriously wounded in an explosion while serving in Afghanistan the previous day.

The event at Crosfields on Hood Lane North, Great Sankey, will celebrate Tom’s life, his love of rugby and raise funds for the charity which supports soldiers injured while serving for their country.

A 60 foot long inflatable assault course, archery. raffles, food and military vehicles will be available at the family fun day.

Twenty-year-old Private Sephton’s mum Ange Horn, his dad Ian Sephton and Kathy Sephton, his stepmum, will attend along with his friends from Warrington and the 1 Mercian.

Entertainment will start at 12pm and the match at 3pm on Saturday.

Everyone is welcome to attend. Entry and car parking is free.
