A PRECIOUS cabinet given to a courageous Runcorn war hero Thomas Alfred Jones has been donated to Halton Council.
The engraved table top piece of furniture, with two drawers and glass doors, was presented to Private Jones by scholars and friends of Ellesmere Street Sunday School, in recognition of his Victoria Cross.
The family of the late Private Jones, known as 'Todger', presented the cabinet to the Mayor and Mayoress of Halton, Cllr John and Margaret Swain.
