INTREPID teacher Alan McKeegan put his tastebuds to the ultimate challenge when he took part in a bushtucker trial.

Mr McKeegan, a teacher at Sir Thomas Boteler CE High School, undertook the trial to raise money for a voluntary teaching post in Tanzania later this year.

Staff and pupils dug deep into their pockets to sponsor the fearless teacher, who ate, among other things, raw fish.

Mr McKeegan hopes to take up the five-week voluntary post in Africa during the school's summer break.
