POLICE have warned teens attending monthly youth nights at Mr Smith's nightclub to beware.

Because transport officers say they will not stand for anti-social behaviour.

Scores of youngsters travel into the town for the under age nights causing transport police to monitor Central and Bank Quay stations.

Following an incident before last Wednesday's event, officers are warning teens to take heed from this incident, as increased police patrols will monitor future youth nights.

A police spokesman said: "An assault on members of staff or anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated on the railway network.

"We will continue to provide a high profile presence at Warrington, monitoring train services arriving and leaving stations in the Warrington area for future events."

Andy Hunter, manager of the Bridge Foot nightspot, said: "Our door staff can only police inside the club and nearby. We make sure every youngster who attends are breath tested before they go in, and parents are called if any alcohol is found on them."

l A 14-year-old boy from Widnes was charged with assault following an incident at Widnes station last Wednesday.
