ON January 16, Poynton and Stockport Movie Makers visited.

They brought an excellent programme of videos, including Steam in the Valley, Springtime in Didsbury, Waltzing with Dolphins, Bridge over the Atlantic, Nantwich, The Inca Trail, The Falkirk Wheel, What the Victorians did for Reddish and At the Atlantic's Edge.

Members' movies followed on January 23. The films shown were Temple Newsam by Steve Ridout, Oxfordshire by Geoff Scotson, The Glacier Express and Malta by Jim and Norma Wood, Three Days in Moscow by Derek and Marjorie Belton, Harry and Friends - a comedy by Harry Larkin (we were all in stitches - Harry made this film in 1986, he is such a natural comedian!) and Snowdon, a debut video made by Oliver Barber, aged 15. Oliver is the grandson of Joyce Barber, a long-standing member.

There is a competition evening on February 6, when the Eric Pep Trophy will be awarded and the results of our annual competition will be announced.

We meet every Monday at 8pm at the Silver Band Hall, Loushers Lane. Visitors are welcome. For more information, call Rob Evans on 262876.
