WOLVES may have missed out on the Grand Final but one of their new signings has made it - and fans could have a chance to see him play at The Halliwell Jones Stadium sooner than they thought.

Paul Rauhihi, who agreed a deal earlier this year to join Wolves from next season on a two-year contract, was part of the North Queensland Cowboys side that defeated NRL minor premiers Parramatta Eels 29-0 on Sunday to book their place in the Premiership Final against Wests Tigers.

And the 32-year-old prop, who is expected to be in the starting line-up in Sunday's final, which will be shown live on Sky from 9.30am, could be celebrating Grand Final glory by playing at his new home ground on November 6 when New Zealand take on England.

The international match, which kicks off at 2.15pm, will act as a warm up game for the Kiwis in between two Tri-Nations matches and they are expected to field a strong side that could include Rauhihi, Logan Swann and Henry Fa'afili, who are all vying for selection for the New Zealand squad.

And there is the potential for a Warrington head-to-head as Mark Gleeson, Paul Wood, Chris Bridge and Ben Westwood have all been named in England's train-on squad that will prepare for their games against France and New Zealand.

The Halliwell Jones hosted the final of last year's European Nations Cup - a competition England are not involved in this year - and Wolves chief executive Andy Gatcliffe is pleased the stadium has been chosen to stage another international game.

He said: "We've hosted the Challenge Cup semi finals and the European Nations Cup and proved how well the club can handle games like that.

"And just months after we hosted football in Euro 2005, international sport is here again."
