THE first meeting of the 2005/6 season took place and all enjoyed the talk given by our new chairman, Gordon Speakman.
His subject was The Mersey from Source to the Sea. He was thanked by the secretary, Anne Podmore.
Afterwards, members enjoyed meeting up again and exchanging views on what they had been doing over the summer months.
The next meeting will be held on October 17 at 7.30pm at Friar's Green Schoolroom, Cairo Street, when the speaker will be Steven Pickering, and his subject will be Warrington Market, the 750th Anniversary.
