TOUCHING thoughts have been left on our World website message board in memory of Runcorn dad Len Dwyer.

Len, 24, of Navigation Close, Murdishaw, who has a 17-month-old son, Spencer, was killed in the early hours of Saturday, September 3, as he tried to cross the M62 near Rainhill Stoops.

His widow, Mel, 20, a trainee nurse, said: "Thank you for all the tributes, it speaks for itself how special Len was. He touched so many of us, and will be missed so much. He will be made up that so many people care. Thank you for all the support at this hard time."

His dad, James, 51, of Runcorn, said: "He was just such a happy, extrovert lad. He used to joke and say: "I don't want to grow up and go old and baldy.

"Loads of kids used to follow him, he was like the Pied Piper. He has left a big gap in all our lives."

Len's widow, Mel wrote this moving poem in memory of her loving husband:

'From the day we met I've had the best time of my life,

I'm proud to have your son and that I am your wife.

We shared so much laughter and shed so many tears,

It's hard to believe how much we did in only two short years.

We sat and watched the sun rise and set into the sea,

What made it feel so special was your arms were holding me.

We used to sit in bed for a gossip and a laugh,

We drank champagne on our wedding day whilst sitting in the bath.

You held my hand when our son was born, you were his best friend,

I can't believe the three of us will never laugh again.

You helped me be the person that I am today.

"Don't stress babe, you'll be sound," is what you used to say.

I treasure every moment, I long for one last kiss,

This list is never ending of everything I'll miss.

So rest in peace, my angel, stay close and help us through,

Me and Spenny love you loads, and were always proud of you.'
