A RISLEY prisoner died after bags of heroin burst in his stomach.

Paul Rea was supplied with the drugs by his own brother, Terence.

He collapsed and died in Warrington Hospital on March 31.

His younger brother Terence pleaded guilty to supplying the drugs at Warrington Crown Court on Monday, after an initial charge of manslaughter was dropped. He was jailed for two years.

Terence was noticed by a sniffer dog as he entered the prison as a visitor after being pressurised into smuggling the drugs in by his 'intimidating' older brother.

A security camera operator filmed Terence pulling the drugs out of his trousers and passing them across the table.

The older Rea swallowed the drugs, which were in three little bags made from rubber gloves.

At 8.10am the next day he was taken to hospital with breathing difficulties and died of an overdose at noon.

Terence, aged 36, from Stoneyfield in Netherton, Liverpool, had kicked his own drugs habit but was forced into supplying the drugs, the court heard.

Michael Scholes, defending, said Terence had been devastated by his brother's death.
