A NEW ball court kicked off this week, thanks to a dedicated team of residents.
Exciting facilities, which include a community garden, have transformed the Kingsway estate.
Halton MP Derek Twigg officially opened the new facilities, funded by £89,000 from Wren, Living Spaces and Awards for All.
"It went fantastically," said Tommy Glynn, chairman of community group Unitask.
"The ball park is multi use and has been marked out for five a side football and basketball.
"We're now hoping to create a play area for younger children."
Groundwork Mersey Valley's neighbourhood pride team helped Unitask to apply for the grants.
"The aim of Unitask has always been to provide the community with facilities that they can use," explained Tommy, who has been striving for two and a half years to improve the Kingsway estate.
"We've bought a new petrol driven mower and a strimmer so residents will be able to look after our community garden.
"We're working with a local sculptor to create a totem pole with a wildlife theme."
