WARRINGTON'S award-winning male voice choir has just returned from a highly acclaimed charity tour of the Isle of Man.
After a gap of 10 years, chairman Barrie Johnson led a delegation of 70-plus choristers and supporters in a host of organised, impromptu and spontaneous performances.
Choir president and Mayor of Warrington, Clr Hans Mundry, along with Mayoress Clr Karen Mundry accompanied the choir on the goodwill tour.
Clr Mundry said: "We want to express our support and appreciation to the choir in their role as ambassadors for the town. Already recognised by thousands of people around the world, now is the time that our fellow Warringtonians should acknowledge that the unique talents of this group of men would cost the rate-payer many thousands of pounds in equivalent public relations fees to promote the town with such effect.
"We want to emphasise the welcoming warmth and friendship which the mayoress and I have received from the choir and we are happy to be a part of it."
Special audience guests included Sir Norman Wisdom and Scottish TV and recording star Moira Anderson.
