RAINFOREST and desert challenge await teenage explorer Lee Morgan on the exotic island of Madagascar.
For Lee, aged 17, from Arrowsmith Drive, Alsager, will to embark on the adventure of a lifetime next summer in an expedition to the island in the Indian Ocean.
A sixth former at Newcastle-under-Lyme School, Lee was one of 40 lucky pupils chosen for the World Challenge expedition.
During their month-long stay the youngsters will trek through rainforest and desert areas, climb a mountain, and work with villagers on irrigation, conservation and environmental projects.
"I am really excited about the expedition, which will involve a lot of camping out, and I'm looking forward to the trekking and seeing the rainforests,'' said Lee.
Each of the pupils needs to raise £2,500 to pay for the trip, and Lee is planning to wash cars and hold barbecues as part of his bid to hit the total.
He is also seeking sponsorship, and anyone wishing to support Lee can contact him at his school on 01782-631197.
