OH dear! The V96 concert was always going to attract an amount of criticism be it a success or failure, so we should have expected it would also give the likes of E.E. something to complain about for years to come.

E.E. is not the only one to lose friends because of drugs and if he/she had read my letter properly he/she would see that my point is that drugs are a bigger problem in this town than a few smokers in a field. It DOES NOT state anywhere that drugs are acceptable.

E.E. has taken any negative reports as his/her facts and blindly ignore the positive views of the council, the police and 35,000 concert goers to form his/her own blinkered conclusion that the gig was not a success.

Previously in Guardian letters, K.S. of Lymm made the point about Walking Day's problems with its drunks and many arrests. Maybe in June we'll see E.E.'s "observations" on that, too. After all, he's had 50 years to go at!

KEEF.
