I WAS disgusted to read recently that Warrington Borough Council wants to spend £80,000 on a survey for some crazy River Mersey scheme.
Give this money to the pensioners of Warrington, not some crackpot Mersey Park scheme.
The people of Gainsborough Road have just got this foul smelling tributary piped after years of complaints and now these crackpot people want to open up this sewer again and blight our lives.
We are happy with the way the place is now and don't want fishermen or rowdy people using this land for their so-called watersports. This area is now a peaceful haven for birds and should be left as it is. MR. C. PIPER, Chester Road.
