FLORIST Alison Lawton has branded Asda bosses as "fat cats" and sent them a wreath - to say thanks a bunch!

For the businesswoman claims the supermarket giant is going to put her out of business and deep in debt.

The major chain charges Alison nearly £300 a-week to lease a shop in its Westbrook complex. But the 32-year-old is enraged after Asda announced it is to open its own flower stall...just 100 yards away.

Six-years ago she signed a 25-year lease with Asda for the Four Seasons Florist.Alison claims the move would force her to go bankrupt and her parents could lose their home covering her debts.

She fumed: "It's border line at the moment. But this will finish us off. We have built our trade up over six-years and now it's ruined.

"We only have to lose five per cent of our business and that's us finished."

Alison and her family, from Old Hall, have started a petition to try to get Asda to reverse the decision. More than 100 signatures have been collected from shop regulars and passers-by.

Alison added: "I will beat them on all their prices...this is war."

A spokesman for Asda said: "The move is part of upgrading our store and we believe the two offers will be different and they will complement each other.

"We would be happy to discuss our plans with the shop."
