WARRINGTON beauty queen Jane Gregory missed out on glamour glory in her bid to become Miss UK.
But it isn't surprising the former Miss Warrington had a tough battle - she lost a night's beauty sleep before the final when one of the Mr UK contestants dropped a glass on the floor.
The splinters cut Jane's foot and she ended up spending the night in casualty.
"Luckily, my room-mate was a nurse, but I had to have stitches - we were at the hospital until 6am."
"But I had a fantastic time," she added. "I met Bruce Forsyth, who complimented me on my dress, and Vinnie Jones and Gladiator Rio were there.
"It was really hard work and I'll be trying again next year."
