A HEALTH delegation from Warrington is to take part in a pioneering European conference on drug addiction later this month.

Specialists from the town's Community Health Care Trust will travel to one of Warrington's twin towns, Nachod in the Czech Republic, to discuss the problem of drug addiction.

The event is the brainchild of Warrington's Community Health Care clinical co-ordinator, Janice Sheath, who has already been to Nachod to offer advice on the Czech town's growing drug problem.

She said: "We will be looking at why people become addicted to drugs, different methods of getting people off drugs and more constructive ways of dealing with addicts through the criminal justice system."

Experts from North Cheshire Health and Warrington Borough Council have also been invited to the forum.
