I COULDN'T agree more with Chris Grayling's comments concerning the development of Warrington. But does Mr. Grayling know that Warrington South is not the only area being 'raped' by the Commission for the New Town?

In Warrington North, RAF Burtonwood has been left uncultivated for over 30 years while its future is decided.

With its wide open grassland and small coppice areas, the former air base is a home for all manner of animal and bird life.

Residents invited to live here in a village type environment are only now aware that in order to preserve other countryside areas within the borough, major development in Warrington North is likely.

No one is saying development and growth isn't necessary for Warrington but we too need protection from over development. We too need open space and wildlife to take pleasure from in years to come.

Let's get it right, not for one area but for the whole of Warrington. BRENDA BRADLEY, Great Sankey North Residents' Association
