A WOMAN escaped from her blazing house through a bedroom window after an incense burner overheated and set the television on fire.
Student Teresa Williams of Bradshaw Lane, Grappenhall, was helped to safety by neighbours and passers-by who saw her perched on top of the porch as flames engulfed the lounge.
The fire spread rapidly when the incense burned out and the lighted wick ignited inside a plastic container on top of the television.
