FORTY per cent of people interviewed in a shopping survey in Warrington had never visited Hatter's Row.

Sixty per cent had made purchases in the arcade, which pleased them. A synopsis of comments about shopping there was that Hatter's Row was a quaint oasis, full of character, with a wide range of friendly shops selling quality goods. It was also claimed to provide the best cup of coffee in town.

The survey also revealed that more than 80 per cent of people use more than half their annual spending money on purchases in the town centre.

Twice as many women use a car to shop in the town as those using public transport.

The survey was conducted by Warrington Business Venture.
