LONDON Bridge have made a brilliant start to the Greenall Tetley Dominoes League season, streaking away at the top of Division Two with eight wins and a draw in their first nine games.

Last week they took Howley B apart, except for resistance from D. Cunliffe and D. Titcombe in the opener when they beat G. Smith and G. Shaw to ensure Howley were not whitewashed.

The experience of Marquis B could not prevent them from being humiliated by an inspired Imperial team.

In Division Three, Alf Parker played double eight against a five to throw one leg away but they still won the other two as the Rail showed they were far better than Farmers Arms.

Sacred Heart had only their third win of the season and Penny Ferry won their first game since the second week of the season.

In the top flight, Warrington Town failed to seal early advantages at Orford but can be pleased that Hawthorne failed to make up ground on them as they missed out at home to Sloop.

Graham Manson and Percy Doodson were the toast of Pierpoints as they beat Red Lion WROB. In the Kingsway win over Kings Club the game was all square until S. Bennett and R. Hope managed to pinch the last leg against the drop and keep Kingsway in the upper echelons of the table.

Padgate St. Oswalds A are pushing for the Division Three lead after St. Albans were unable to hold an inspired side.
