A CHARITY offered money by a convicted paedophile has turned down the donation.
Last week the GUARDIAN revealed Peter Smith, of Oakwood, had convictions for indecent assault against three boys.
Mr Smith had offered money to a trust, set up in the name of Great Sankey youngster Matthew Ellis, for research into Angelman's Syndrome.
But Jan Ellis, Matthew's mother, says she has refused the money.
"I was shocked when I found out he had previous convictions. I will not accept the money and don't want anything at all to do with it."
