JET setting pipers could be off to represent the town on the continent - with a little help.
St Patrick's Pipe Band is appealing for sponsorship to perform at the annual music festival in St Helens' twin town, Chalon Sur Saone, France.
The band, which was established in Newton 16-years ago, needs to raise £2,500 to cover travel and accommodation costs.
A group spokesman said: "The band has already achieved considerable success in competitions, winning a number of prizes for both piping and drumming.
"We are very keen to take up the invitation from the twin town but with limited funds we need sponsorship."
Anyone wishing to help the group should ring 0161 799 7417.
